Three signals, one standard

OpenTelemetry combines traces, metrics and logs in a common data model (OTLP). Instead of separate tools and formats, you use one standard – this makes your observability uniform and much easier to evaluate.

Vendor-neutral & no lock-in

Your telemetry data belongs to you. OpenTelemetry works with over 90 backends, from Prometheus to Grafana. You change the backend without having to re-instrument your code – a clear advantage over proprietary agents.

With SDKs for many programming languages and automatic instrumentation, you can bring observability to your code without having to rewrite it. Once set up, your application delivers permanently clean signals.

The OpenTelemetry Collector

The Collector receives, processes and exports your telemetry centrally. It enriches, filters and transforms data – for example with automatic Kubernetes attributes – without your application noticing.

Signals correlated

Metrics, traces and logs are linked via a shared trace context. From the anomaly deflection in the metric to the slow span to the error line in the log – this noticeably reduces your mean solution time (MTTR).
