What will I learn in the AI workshop?

You'll learn about the entire LLM stack, from the Open WebUI chat interface to model deployment with Ollama and vLLM, all the way to integrating your own data via RAG and external tools via MCP. By the end, you'll know how to host AI language models yourself securely and in compliance with the GDPR.

Do I need any prior knowledge of AI or programming to participate in the AI workshop?

No. The workshop is intentionally open to participants with less technical background as well. Basic IT knowledge is sufficient; we'll explain all the terms from the ground up.

Do I need to have my own GPU or hardware for the AI workshop?

No. The hands-on exercises run on preconfigured virtual machines in the NETWAYS training environment. The use of GPUs, for example in vLLM, is discussed from a theoretical perspective.

How are the hands-on exercises conducted in the AI workshop?

On dedicated virtual machines in the NETWAYS training environment. The instructor introduces the topic, you work on practical exercises, and then you discuss the results together. There is a sample solution for each exercise in the handout. In addition, you'll use central models from NETWAYS Web Services to integrate even larger models.
